It is unbelievable, that the Sulov Rocks were used economically for limestone mining in the past. Large blocks of limestone occur around the perimeter of the conglomerate rocks. The largest of the limestone blocks is located above the village Sulov to the west. Limestone was mined here in 1951-1955. The stone was blasted, further broken by hand and fired in the kiln. After the lime kiln was closed, the quarry was restored naturally.
